Purpose | This position was created to provide mentorship and ongoing professional support to program participants who are engaged in self employment and entreprenuerial opportunities. | ||
Benefits | - To share their busienss expertise and experience with up and coming entrepeneurs who are living with HIV/AIDS. - The opportunity to expand professional business networks. - To be a part of facilitating the success and building the capacity of self employed/up and coming small business owners. | ||
Time Commitment | - Minimum of one year commitment. - Meet with client for two hours one per month. - Available for check-ins by phone and/or e-mail. | ||
Duties | The Volunteer will: - Meet monthly to discuss ideas, strategies, planning, and to serve as a valuable resource for the mentee. - Share business and professional expertiese with self-employment program participant. - Serve as a support person and role model. - Maintain absolute confidentiality and provacy of client. | ||
Personal Qualities and Skills | Required Qualities & Skills: - Experience owning, operating and/or working for a small, micro or home-based business. - Experinece in marketing, sales, operations, finance, social media, business management, human resources or communications highly valued. - Ability to work with diverse communities. - An understanding of HIV/AIDS and/or other episodic disabilites and how it can impact business operations. - Demonstrates a genuine interest in the growth and success of the client. - Coaching, mentoring, communication and listenings skills are essential. | ||
