Purpose | ESL Tutoring is offered to Employment Action clients to supplement their current ESL studies and improve their English skills in order to make them more competitive in the job market. | ||
Time Commitment | 3 hours per week for months Details: Specific days and number of hours per week are negotiable. | ||
Duties | The Volunteer will: - Assess new clients' current proficiency in English and suggest level of study. - Assist clients in proper grammatical usage in business correspondence. - Assist clients with conversational English in the context of business and employment. - Provide regular progress reports on clients to the Employment Consultant overseeing the program. - Refer clients to other related services and resources outside of ACT from which they may benefit. | ||
Personal Qualities and Skills | Required Qualities & Skills: Desire to work with a culturally and linguistically diverse group of students. Fully fluent in oral and written English. Ability to speak in other languages is an asset. Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language preferred. | ||
