Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and implementing community programs and resources for people living with HIV/AIDS. Specific duties and responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to the following, and may be subject to change:


Program Coordination & Development
Identifies and assesses the community support needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Responds to current and emerging issues related to living with HIV/AIDS
Develops and implements a range of community-situated programs that meet the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS.
Ensures that programs and services are evaluated and modified as needed.
Supports and collaborates, as appropriate, with community groups and individuals with regards to program initiatives.
Develops and/or adapts information resources to ensure they are accessible in terms of content, availability and method of presentation.


Community Development and Outreach
Initiates, joins and participates in networks of community based, private and government HIV/AIDS service providers.
Builds alliances with other agencies and organizations to ensure that community support needs of persons with HIV/AIDS are addressed.


Volunteer Management
Supervises volunteers, providing skills development, motivation and performance evaluations.
Designs and implements volunteer training programs.
Identifies the number of volunteers needed and develops a recruitment plan with Volunteer Services.
Provides support and evaluation for students, as needed


Administration & General Duties
Maintains information on volunteers, clients and services that are provided. Gathers statistical information on volunteers, clients and services. Prepares statistical and program reports
Develops, recommends and implements workplans and budgets.
In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the incumbent is also expected to behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building relationships.
Participates on teams and external committees to communicate information, resolve problems and achieve the goals of the organization.
